Happy 1st Birthday Lil Monster!

Unfortunately the 'birthday weather Gods' didn't like me this year. See, we do birthday parties for our kids when they turn 1 and 8. Beyond that, we'll see. But it just so happened this year that Ezra was turning 1 and Chase was turning 8... four days apart from each other. So I decided to make Chase's party on Feb. 27th and Ezra's on March 27th. Well as luck would have it, it rained, no poured, the day of Chase's party which was to be at the BMX track so we had to move his party to March 20th which ended up being a gorgeous day. Then the morning of Ezra's party it was ridiculously WINDY! All the cute decorations I had didn't even make it out of their packages. AND, because our brand new backyard was still too wet we had to move the party to the front yard and rent a jumper to keep the kids busy and contained.

In the end we all survived and the party was fine. But, if you'd like to do a Monster theme for your kid's birthday hit me up. :/

The invite...

The jumper/slide combo

Some of the party-goers

Some of the kids with the Monster pinata. And yes, it was nearly as tall as me. :)

Monster cupcakes

Pretty much the only decorations that made it out.

The birthday boy with his sign and pinata. The only way we could get him to pose here was to sit him on this car.

He just wanted to ride his roller coaster the WHOLE time!

Takin' a whack at the pinata.

Doing some tricks with uncle Nate.

He couldn't even blow out his candle cause it wouldn't stay lit.

But he didn't care cause all he wanted to do was shove his cupcake in his mouth...

The goody bag...

Still catching up my blog but... go HERE to view some of the pictures we did in a recent photoshoot with the talented Heather from TenderShootz Photography.
My loose tooth dream... unfulfilled.

I have always wanted to tie a string to one of my kid's loose tooth and the other end to the door handle and slam the door shut, thus yanking my kid's tooth out. Well, just before Chase's 8th birthday his front tooth was pretty loose and he decided to let me live out my dream. I got a piece of floss, tied one end to his tooth and then just before I tied the other end to the door handle I panicked just a tad. I wanted to make sure the tooth was really ready so Chase didn't just get whiplash. So I gently tugged on the string to check it and POP! It came out! Bummer. I guess we'll have to wait til the next loose tooth.

The tooth.

As you can see on his face I'm not sure he would let me attempt this again. I'll have to talk Gavin into being my next victim.

Psych

So I had a change of plans regarding the last post. I searched high and low (dragging around 4 hungry little boys) and could not find the cute jars to make the Teacher's Treats jars. I will just have to order them from Hobby Lobby and make them for next year. So instead we made these beauties for their teachers (from the same previous listed blog). The boys are so dang excited to give them to their teachers tomorrow!

Just a little something to help me stall on catching up my blog.

Even though I'm behind on posting, I'm still gonna find the time to make
jar for my boys' teachers for Teacher Appreciation week.

I may even attempt the Mom's Stash jar too.

1st Birthday Part II

When we got home from Disneyland the evening of Ez's birthday, grandma and grandpa Lauritzen came over to sing happy birthday. We had Ezra's favorite... donuts!

He knows EXACTLY what to do with them...

Then we moved on to the presents.

Wade was pretty excited about Ezra's new monster bubble machine.

A Razor scooter from mom, dad, & the brothers.

Grandma Utah got me these fun stacking blocks

And this awesome tool bench. Thanks g-ma Utah!

This cool walker/rider was from grandpa and grandma Nelson.

I love it! Thanks g-pa and g-ma Nelson!

One of the gifts from g-pa and g-ma Lauritzen, a snuggly blankie. Thanks!

I am such a spoiled birthday boy!
