New Cast
This last Monday Gavin finally got a shorter cast on. They started to worry that he would have a hard time bending his knee if they left the longer cast on any longer. His knee was very sore when they took it off. He wanted me to carry him around all over again. But now he's back to using his crutches or dragging himself around on the floor. He was a little nervous when they started to cut off the cast but he was very brave. He is happy to have a little more freedom in this new cast, but still can't wait to get back on his bike! We go back in 3 more weeks to see about getting the cast off, or how much longer we have to keep it on. The end is in sight!

What did the MD say about his crutches? Especially after they were SO adamant that a 3 year old was not going to be able to use them.
You guys have been busy. I love the pirate cast! And your 6 year old is so cute!!
Ya, our doctor was pretty shocked to see that he could use his crutches. The nurses were all saying they have never seen anyone so young using crutches. I guess it's true... where there's a will, there's a way. Gavin was NOT going to be immobile!
I love the cast...Kyler would think that is the coolest thing ever. He loves pirates. It is funny to think that he is only 6 months older than Kyler. I don't know if Ky would be able to use them...so good job Gavin!!! Emily your pictures are so fun.
