Fun Family Nights

Last night we played one of our favorite games for family night. To play all you need is this...
Photobucket
A flashlight! The game is called flashlight tag. We turned off all the lights in the house and the person with the flashlight is 'it'. They close their eyes and count to a number while everyone else hides. When the person is done counting they use their flashlight to find everyone. The last person found gets to be 'it' next. The boys love this game and could play it for hours. Somehow I got stuck with Wade, as if I couldn't find a place big enough for me to hide. He did very well though and kept quiet. After quite a few rounds of flashlight tag, Spencer taught the boys a lesson about how they used the light of the flashlight to find everyone and that we can use another 'light' to guide us in our lives, the Holy Ghost. It was a very sweet and simple lesson to help the boys understand the importance of the Holy Ghost in our lives. We finished family night with a bowl of ice cream with crushed cookies and chocolate syrup. If you have any fun family night ideas for kids let me know or post them on your blog!

Hey Em! My mom and I were talking about your family today. We were talking about big families that we admire. We think your mom is so amazing to have raised such outstanding kids. And now you and Spencer are doing the same for your boys. Way to go! Keep posting those FHE ideas!

What a cute lesson. We will definitely have to give this one a try although it sounds like it could be dangerous. And besides, my kids are a little afraid of the dark. We'll see how it goes!
