We signed Chase up for the Indian Hills Swim Team about a month ago and last night he had his first swim meet against Norco. He is really enjoying being on the swim team. He swims the freestyle and the backstroke. He is still the only one his age on the team that can start with a dive (thanks grandma Lauritzen). He mostly loves to swim underwater and can hold his breath for a surprisingly long time. Infact, during practice he will dive in and then swim to the bottom of the 7ft pool before resurfacing to start his lap. At first this would scare the lifeguard and coach, but then they got used to it. We had to tell him that it would probably be more effective to dive out far and stay on the surface for his race. He did so well yesterday. His little arms and legs were going as fast as they could. When the meet was over he wanted to know where he should go to pick up his trophy... I told him he has to wait until the end of the swim season to get his trophy. And yes, I will buy him one if I have to. :)
Warm ups!

Chase would prefer to swim the entire lap under water

That's awesome. The girls were on swim team in Charlotte. They loved it too. They actually surprised me how strong of swimmers they are. Jason swam in high school. They must take after their dad.
Chase...Grandma is so proud of you...Love you
That's great! He looks so cute in the shorts. Good luck, Chase!
I can't wait for Parker to be able to swim on his own. He has taken a few classes this past year and he has finally gotten over the fear of the water. Soon he will be our little fish.
That is so Awesome... he does a real good job, Especially for his age!!! GO CHASE!!!
Rock On! Chase you are awesome. Love the swimming suit. That is so cool that he can swim so well at age 6.
Very impressive! Katie took private swim lessons for almost 2 months last summer and our bragging element was that after it all she was able to put her face in the water for 10 seconds!! BEAT THAT!! Thank heavens Jared actually learned to swim during his!
